Basement Cabinet & Fireplace Painting Project

This Redondo Beach project involved transforming several built-in cabinets and millwork features in a walk-out basement, including a large fireplace mantel, bar cabinetry, and a bathroom vanity. The original brown wood finish felt outdated and heavy, so the goal was to create a more modern and cohesive look throughout the space.

Instead of replacing the cabinetry, we refinished the existing wood using professional spray coatings to achieve a smooth, factory-like finish. Every surface was thoroughly cleaned, sanded, filled, and caulked before painting to ensure long-lasting durability and a flawless result.

The cabinets and fireplace were finished in Benjamin Moore Raccoon Fur, a deep charcoal color with subtle blue undertones. This darker tone contrasts beautifully with the light walls and trim, creating a stylish and contemporary two-tone design that instantly updated the basement.
