This kitchen cabinet refinishing project in Santa Monica, California focused on transforming traditional dark oak cabinetry into a brighter and more modern kitchen using professional spray finishing techniques.

The original kitchen featured classic 1990s dark oak cabinets, which made the space feel heavy and outdated. Project Overview

Our team completed a full kitchen cabinet refinishing and repainting project including detailed preparation, sanding, wood grain sealing, priming, and professional spray application.

The cabinets were refinished using a two-tone colour design to complement the existing interior palette. The main cabinets were painted a soft creamy off-white, while the kitchen island was refinished in Dry Sage, a subtle mid-tone green that adds contrast and warmth to the space.

New brass hardware on the cabinet doors and drawers helped elevate the overall design and gave the kitchen a clean, contemporary look.

By using professional spray-applied cabinet coatings, the project achieved a smooth, durable factory-like finish while still allowing the natural wood grain of the original oak cabinetry to remain subtly visible.

The result is a bright, updated kitchen that feels modern, fresh, and ready for the real estate market — all without the cost of replacing the cabinets.
